Almost Wordless Wednesday.......2100 Letters for Lyrics

Zac Brown Band sponsors a program called Letters for Lyrics, they encourage their concert go-ers to write letters to deployed service members and in exchange they give them a free CD.  I volunteered to help collect these letters at their concert tonight in Nashville.  What an uplifting experience to see complete strangers stop and take the time to write a note of encouragement to a soldier.

If you want to get in on the fun letter writing:

You get to stop counting birthdays.....

Sebastian Christmas

After the Sebastian Family Christmas at home with Mom Dad Abby and Allie, we headed to Frankfort to my Aunt Beth's cute little pink house.  We joined the rest of the crazy Sebastian clan for Christmas festivities!  After eating a delicious (as always!) Christmas lunch we popped Christmas cracker, donned our paper crowns, and then let the present opening commence!

Our poor little Ma, she had a fight with the concrete and lost.  She compound fractured her arm and had to rushed to the hospital the Saturday before Christmas.  She is doing ok, extra prayer are always appreciated though!

Merry Christmas MG/Tony/BabysDaddy/Big Brother!!!

We got just enough snow to call it a white Christmas, but what we really wished for was your safe return home to us!  We all Love you!!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Allen family Christmas

I wish I hadn't been so hungry, and had taken some photos of our delicious Hunan dinner we had!

It was the best Hunan I've ever eaten.  I did however, get a couple photos of the sacred mashed potato preparations!  My dear sweet Granny Bessie, makes the absolute best mashed potatoes in the world.  If you've had them you would of course already know this!  It's a delicate art, I'm still trying to learn.  She's been a little under the weather the past few months, so I eagerly stepped in to help prepare those yummy taters!  She taught Anthony how to make them last year, and this year I was excited to lend a hand in the kitchen!

We drew names this year, and of course, we should've done that years ago.  It was wonderful, much less stressful for all family members involved!

Pictures of our good times:

My sister, Abby and her boyfriend Branden.  Aren't the adorable?

Allie and her fur-sisters, Roxie and Lizzie.  Also Adorable!

Granny with her four grand daughters!

And Granny with her oldest granddaughter and soon to be great-grandSON!!

Tummy Thursdays.....19 weeks

Ghetto Grilled Cheese

Lately for dinner in the evening, I have been wanting chili with PB & Honey (ala Elementary School) or a bowl of some other soup with a grilled cheese.

This is what happens when you don't want to go to the grocery store but the baby and you both want a grilled cheese with the alphabet vegetable soup!

Hahaha!  Yes, I know that's ghetto, but it was actually very tasty.

Healthtrust Holiday Party

This was the first one I actually got to attend since I've worked for HCA, and it just so happens that I couldn't even use my drink tickets!

My Co-worker, Amy, and I did take advantage of the professional photographer there though!

Aren't we the hottest Healthtrust Mommies You've Ever Seen?

She's due just two weeks after me, it's surprising how many of my friends are pregnant right now.

Hopefully all my preggers friends and I can get photos like this sometime soon!

Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree

.....or the artificial douglas fir tree!

Our Christmas tree is up, and I didn't know exactly how I wanted to show support for Anthony and his fellow deployed soldiers.  I quickly figured it out though, and tied nearly "a hundred yellow ribbons round the old oak tree"

Tummy Thursdays.....17 weeks

I'm such a lucky lady!

My amazing Army family came to the rescue once again!  I thought for my birthday was going to be a sad day without my hubby.  Little did I know he had been planning with my friends for quite some time.

At work they tricked Mrs. Martha and I into thinking we were having a real meeting and then shared cupcakes and balloons with us.  I got some beautiful flowers, an adorable teddy bear (which was really for Baby MG I'm sure!) and some balloons.

What a lucky lady I am indeed!

And we give thanks!

Half my Army family came home with me for Thanksgiving.  It was good to be surrounded by such awesome friends and family.  I knew it was going to be hard without Anthony there, and I almost lost it during the lunch blessing....but besides that we had an awesome weekend.  There were a few people who really missed Anthony, who am I kidding, we ALL missed him.  Some showed it a little more artistically:

I reminenced of holidays past, and thought of all the wonderful people who have joined my family at one point or the other.  I find that I always rest so well at my Ma's house, maybe it's because it smells so good there, like Ma's house.  Trust me, if you've been there you can readily identify this scent!

This weekend we were joined by our newest Army family member, Raegan Anne.  She is an absolute doll baby, everyone passed her around and she smiled continuously at everyone, warming hearts with her gummy grin.  It was great to have her and her awesome Mommy along for a little Black Friday shopping, we didn't shop til we dropped.  We barely even made it out of the house before noon!  But still some great deals were to be had and lunch with my cousin and his girlfriend at Red Robin was very enjoyable!

Overall, I am very thankful to have great friends and family and we were all thankful for our special soldiers who are spending the holidays overseas protecting our freedoms.

It's hard to watch that bus roll away with half of your everything on it....

So my soldier as well as numerous other soldiers headed to Afghanistan this weekend.  It was a very chaotic day, and I'm glad my red headed sister didn't beat up a gate officer, nor did I break down and try to throw myself in front of the bus carrying my soldier away from me for a year.

This is Anthony's third deployment, but it is our first deployment together.  He and I both knew that this one was going to be extra difficult.  Not just because we are going to be thousands of miles apart, but because there are numerous people who are going to be missing him and worrying about him right along with me, including Baby MG!

My sisters and Mom made awesome homemade pride shirts.  They were awesome!  I was so impressed, and I think deep down Anthony was too!

We started the morning at where else but IHOP?  My husband LOVES some IHOP!!!

Then it was off to Fort Campbell, the drive there seemed like it took 5 minutes instead of the usual hour and five minutes.  The soldiers had to line up a bunch of times, do a roll call about five or six times, and the flight got delayed, so command gave us the extra few hours to spend with our families.  What a great decision for who ever makes the decision, we got to have dinner with a big group before the soldiers had to say their final "I'll see ya's"

And finally the difficult one:

All moved in

We have some incredible friends and family.

First, I'm still a Daddy's girl......my Dad is amazing, he came down cooked delicious food for us and packed almost everything up and then helped us move and then proceeded to unpack and help organize everything.  Did I mention he cooked? and cleaned?? and did LAUNDRY???

We would still be unpacking boxes when the baby gets here if it weren't for him.

ohhh and our friends?  Who got up early on a Saturday, and some even worked a full early morning shift AND then came to help move.  And packed everything up in the back of three pickups and our trailblazer, made the long haul to Brentwood and then help unpack and get everything settled.

I'm overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our friends, even though in the end it means having to drive an hour to see me during deployment, they still rolled up their sleeves and pitched in.

Daddy, Amid, Christina, Josh, Cindy, Jayda and Dre we LOVE you all!!  Thanks for all your manual labor and sweating. :-p

Celebration of Cultures

Today we had a great time with our "kids" (borrowed, and we already gave them back!)

We went to Nashville with granpappy (my Dad), Jayda and DeAndre in tow.

It was a whole lot of fun and a perfect day to be at the park enjoying all the culture.

We painted a bit

We learned how to play the drums.  Jayda was quite impressive mimicking the beats that the leader would play.  And Dre was quick to multi-task, by playing both the drum and the tambourine.

and took in the scenery after enjoying some shaved ice, can you guess who had the blue one and who had the red one?

And then we slept all the way home, even through the car wash!  Gotta love worn out kids!!

Attention Drivers in Lincoln County and the surrounding areas!!

There's a few new drivers on the road that you should be prepared for.......

If you are required to be driving in the vicinity and happen to see either of these gals behind the wheel of a vehicle, simply and calmly remove your vehicle from the road and quietly and patiently wait for them to pass.  They are to be considered armed (with large purses) and dangerous (because they don't know any better!)

There is no need to alert the authorities, just go on about your day and be glad they didn't ram into you with thier Mother's mini-vans.
